Although it’s quite chilly outside, we have been blessed with some gorgeous spring days lately. I started thinking more about which products in my collection are best for quick spring mornings and decided to introduce you to some of these products as well.
Lately I’ve been ditching the heavy foundation and using a BB cream instead. Maybelline has a new Dream Pure BB Cream that’s meant for oily skin. My skin is not oily, but I appreciate the oil free formula and SPF 15 it has, plus the medium shades matches me perfectly. I do have to say that although it’s meant for oily skin, it gets shiny after a few hours and unless you have very dry skin, you should probably fix it with a powder. I use bareMinerals Mineral Veil powder – it’s really light weight andperfect for fixing makeup.
I still have and use my Too Faced Chocolate Soleil bronzer. It’s matte, so it’s perfect for contouring and can also be used all over your face without turning you into a disco ball. Just lightly though, the powder is quite dark and strongly pigmented. It smells and tastes like cocoa powder, which is awesome, yet so weird… On my cheeks I’m still loving NARS “Orgasm”, my all time favourite blush so far. Peachy blush with some gold shimmer suits me throughout the year, no matter how fair or tanned I am.
I’ve always been a lazy cream eyeshadow kind of girl, but lately I’ve been playing around with powdery ones as well and Dr. Hauschka Dear Eyes palette makes it really easy. It has beautiful everyday shades, soft silky texture and the shadows have a wonderful rosy scent! Under the eyeshadows I apply Avon eyeshadow primer that helps to neutralize the base and makes the shadows stay put all day long. My current mascara is Lumene Cloudberry ExCELLength – it leaves a really natural finish, but can be built up as well. It lenghtens and also thickens my lashes.
I switch up my lip products almost every day, but these are the ones I reach for the most. Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid lipsticks in “Shocking Coral” and “Vivid Rose” have a really strong pigment and they stay on for a long time. I wrote more about them here. I also love Maybelline Color Whisper lipstick in “Faint for Fuchsia” – a beautiful pink lipstick with a light texture, perfect for a quick swipe over the lips. I wrote more about Color Whispers in this post. My boldest lip experiment this spring has been orange. Make Up Store “Scarlet” is a perfect bright coral for that. A full review about it can be read here. And last, but not least is my Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfector (01) – a creamy gloss/balm that gives a beautiful finish to the lips and the product itself smells so good!
